About Making Music
Making Music is the association for leisure-time music in the UK. Representing 3600+ music groups of around 200,000+ musicians, we are dedicated to empowering everyone with opportunities to make and promote the kind of music they like in a group with others.
In return for membership, we provide practical services, tools and resources to support the running of these groups, and the chance for artistic development. We protect what matters by advocating for the leisure-time music sector, and bring our members together as a community to share and champion their successes.
Membership benefits are designed to support the specific needs of leisure-time music groups. For example, our group insurance package is tailor-made for amateur music groups and provides a comprehensive range of covers including public and employers’ liability, trustee indemnity, event cancellation, property and money. We are able to offer this bespoke package at a much lower price than comparable cover elsewhere.
And if you do decide to join us now, both our membership costs (starting from £98 per year) and group insurance cover (starting from £43 per year) are available on a pro-rata basis – meaning your group can access all member benefits and have comprehensive insurance cover for just £49 and £28 respectively.
