Dermot O’Callaghan

Dermot O’Callaghan is CEO of Sing Ireland, the national organisation with a remit for the development of choral practice in Ireland. He is also 1st Vice-President of the European Choral Association.

His career to date has also seen him work with Opera Theatre Company (the national touring company in Ireland) and Chamber Choir Ireland (Ireland’s professional chamber choir). He has worked as a choral and orchestral conductor, vocal and instrumental teacher and as a facilitator and holds a B.A. (Music and English), B.Mus. and M.A. in Arts Management.

Recent achievements at Sing Ireland have included a restructuring of the organisation to rebrand and revision to become Sing Ireland in 2019 having previously operated as the Association of Irish Choirs. Over the past eighteen months, The European Choral Association and Sing Ireland have offered many supports and training opportunities for choirs and conductors at a time when a vibrant but severely hit sector is looking to the European Choral Association and Sing Ireland for guidance.
